H2DC participant Alexandra

Alexandra has dreamed of visiting the US since she was little. She would like to visit schools, churches, museums, orphanages and hospitals while she is here. Her desire is to shine the light God has placed in her and encourage other young people to strive for success. She would like to become a psychiatric nurse.

Betty

Betty believes coming to the US is part of God’s plan for her life. She is an aspiring accountant who would like to visit businesses and meet some entrepreneurs while she is in the US. Her desire is to gain additional knowledge of these professions and “experience some unexpected things” during her visit. She hopes to inspire her family and other young people to strive for greater success.

ClaudiaClaudia feels traveling to the US is a dream destination for her. She says she wants to learn new things and experience EVERYTHING the USA has to offer. She would like to visit places she has previously read about and interact with people who can have a positive  and motivating influence in her life. Her lifelong ambition is to become a gynecologist so that she can help women and mothers in her country.

Claudy’s penchant for fixing broken items is what drives his desire to become an aircraft engineer. He is also excited about his first airplane ride as he travels to the US. Claudy is looking forward to experiencing worship service and would love the opportunity to watch a live soccer game while he is here. As the oldest young man at the orphanage he feels the opportunity to travel to the US will inspire him to be a better leader and teacher to his younger brothers. 

FabiolaFabiola is anxious to see how Americans live their daily lives. She hopes to make new friends and learn about US culture during her visit. Her goal to be a better worship leader as well as care for the children and elderly in her country drives her desire to learn about these functions in the US. She wants to be a lawyer and would love to visit the US Courts in addition to meeting people in the legal profession and in law enforcement while she is here.

Guerda has often prayed she would visit the US and is thankful God answered her prayers through the H2DC Project. She looks forward to meeting other young adults in the US and talking with them about their experiences. Guerda has a heart for the elderly and enjoys doting on her younger brothers and sisters at the orphanage. She believes this opportunity will propel her forward in achieving her goal of becoming a Psychogeriatric Nurse.

John KellyJohn Kelly loves aviation and wants to learn everything he can about airplanes with the hope of becoming a pilot. He is very excited about traveling on an airplane for the first time and hopes to meet the pilots on his inaugural flight. He would like to visit schools and churches while in the US. John has a heart for people and wants to fellowship with other young people in his age group.

Jorenne (Joanne)Jorenne is thankful for the extraordinary opportunity to come to the US. She believes God blessed her with this chance so that she may be a blessing to someone else. She would like to gain a better understand the societal and economic impact of being a US citizen. When she returns to her country she looks forward to being a light and inspiration to other young people who would like to visit the US.

JudithJudith’s greatest desire is to visit the poor and homeless when she comes to the US. She says she has a heart for the disadvantaged and would like to learn how she can better minister to this population in Haiti. With the dream of becoming a humanitarian, she hopes her visit will provide her with the necessary tools to make a difference in her country

Marie FranceAn aspiring lawyer and airline hostess, Marie France is looking forward to experiencing the vibrant culture of the US. She would like to visit the monuments and memorials in Washington, DC. She hopes to expand her knowledge of the US, taste new foods, and build memories which will last a lifetime. Marie France believes traveling to the US is an opportunity God ordained for her life.

Marie-ClaudeVisiting the US, a country she has loved since she was little is a dream come true for Marie-Claude. She is excited to meet the people she will interact with while she is here and looks forward to developing lasting friendships. Although she would like to become a flight attendant, ultimately Marie-Claude would like to return to the US in the future for an extended time to further develop her vocal music gift.

RhodlineRodeline, an aspiring doctor, characterizes coming to the US as a “golden experience”. She looks forward to meeting new people, tasting different foods and visiting tourist sites she has read about. She believes God ordained this opportunity for her and feels it is His way of expanding her knowledge and deepening her understanding of the world outside of her native country. 

Saintemène (Makilese)Saintemène aka Makilese has always heard the US was a nice place to visit and looks forward to experiencing that for herself. But first this future flight attendant wants to learn all she can about this profession during her travel to the US. She is eager to share God’s love with her new friends in the US. She would like to visit churches, beaches, monuments and parks while she is in the US.

Nerlanda would love to work with children when she finishes school. She really has a heart for young people and hopes to be able to share her love for them when she comes the the US. She looks forward to sharing her experiences abroad with others when she comes back to Haiti.

Weslise (Didine)Weslise, who prefers to be called Didine uses the words “beautiful” and “extraordinary” when describing the US. This aspiring nurse longs to be accepted as a family member by her US hosts and not merely a visitor. She believes this experience will transformative in so many aspects of her life. She would like to visit a church to experience worship and offer praises to God for this awesome opportunity.

WidelineWideline, a future flight attendant is excited about taking her first flight. She is looking forward to experiencing everything this trip has to offer. Her interest in history is why she would like to visit a US museum to view exhibits on slavery. She believes God sees the purity of her heart and He has opened the door for international travel so that she may be a blessing to others in the future.

Ms. Anatha has been with Mission of Grace for more than four years and will serve as one of the chaperones for the group. She functions as the assistant director for missions, managing the daily operations of all aspects of the mission. She is a warm and fun-loving individual who goes out of her way to make sure things run smoothly. Whether is serving food at the school, taking children for doctors visits or sitting with the staff to ensure operational integrity is maintained, she does it with a smile. This will be Ms. Anatha’s first visit to the US and she is looking forward to all God will unfold before her.

Ms. Aniece is a favorite among the children, staff and missionaries at Mission of Grace. She has served with the mission for more than six years. Her duties include providing assistance where called upon to keep the mission functioning, but truly she is the mission’s “concierge”. Whatever needs to be done, she will accomplish it. Whether it’s comforting a distraught child, jumping rope or playing soccer with the kids, calling out a rousing cheer or leading devotions before the little ones go to bed, you can count on her to bring her “A-game” every time. The kids couldn’t think of taking a trip to the US without her being one of their chaperones. She is very thankful to God and supporters for the opportunity to get a “US” stamp in her passport.
